Safari Adventure Play – Re-opening 17th May

Safari Adventure play is a large indoor soft play park. It boasts to be the biggest soft play frame in the East of England. With 2 frames suitable for different ages, there is plenty to do for everyone. Along with the soft play frame there is an interactive indoor play area, Role Play area and ride on cars as well as a huge volcano slide.
The boys love coming to Safari Adventure Play it is always been clean and the staff are really friendly. Which is why its one of the places we are really looking forward to reopening in peterborough. We have been a couple of times during the covid when soft play was last able to open. I felt so reassured with their cleaning and hygiene strategies. For those who haven’t been before I have written a review of when we last visited. It was during Covid and the procedures they had in place were fantastic.
Railworld Wildlife Haven – Wednesday 19th May

Railworld Wildlife Haven is tucked away in the city centre, with it’s own free car park. You enter a bigger car park, opposite The Green Backyard on Oundle Road and drive to far side. You then drive underneath the railway bridge and the car park is to the right. Railword is over 2,000 sqft of landscaped habitats, model railways and Victorian bridges.
One of the biggest highlights to visiting Railworld has to be the model train track inside one of the buildings. There is a small children’s model railway which features trains from Thomas The Tank Engine. These can be controlled by turning dials and the boys absolutely loved. Keeping socially distanced can be a little tricky however if it gets busy you can come and go as you please. As well as the children’s model train track there is a much larger one which you can sit and watch. The boys had fun identifying some of the train carriages and was impressed to see Kit Kat carriage being pulled. I wrote a review of our visit to Railworld (pre covid).
Currently there are 2 viewing platforms at Railworld Wildlife Haven. One of which is in serious disrepair so the majority has been taped off. However there is a much safer and newer viewing platform to use too. The viewing platforms are only accessible via steps, and once you are at the top it makes the ideal spot to train watch.
Inflatanation – Friday 21st May

Inflatanation had barely been open before it had to close. So it’s one of newest businesses that’s set to be reopening in peterborough. We only managed one visit to Inflatanation before the whole pandemic hit, however the boys loved it so much they want to go back. 14,000 square feet of pure inflatable fun! There are new covid measures in place to ensure safety and of customers and staff. From temperature checks, mask wearing and floor signage to remind of the 1m distancing rules and a strict cleaning schedule.
Inflatanation is a great place for a bounce, there is lots to do from the Inflata Drop and Crazy slides to the Inflata Balls where you have to bounce on them to reach the other side. The Inflata Bash is always fun trying to navigate your way through whilst trying to avoid the air filled pillars coming back to hit you. For younger children there is a separate area just or them that includes a slide and ball pool.
Nene Valley Railway – Saturday 22nd May
Nene Valley Railway was 43 years old during June 2020, however the concept began beyond that when a group of enthusiasts clubbed together and purchased some land, some track, a locomotive and rolling stock. This was the beginning of a dream, and one that still exists today bringing the heady days of steam alive and also that of the more younger additions of diesels, embracing all eras of train movement. Nene Valley Railway reopens the rail line on the 22nd May! Tickets are available now to book to secure your seat on the train.
It’s been awhile since we last went on the Nene Valley Railway and with covid affecting many businesses it will be lovely to show them some support to ensure the future of NVR.
Hollywood Bowl – Monday 17th May
Last on the list is Hollywood Bowl! It’s been awhile since our last visit so it’s on the list! Hollywood Bowl have worked hard to introduce covid safe measures. Bowling Alley’s are pre-bookable, and there are screens separating lanes and distinctive bowling balls for each lane too. All of which is to make sure it’s safe for everyone to come and have fun! I know my 3 boys can’t wait to get back to bowling and winning against me.
